SpearEdge LLC builds tools for people who have served. We collect as little personal information as possible, we keep your resume data on your own device, and we do not sell your information to anyone.
1. Who we are
SpearEdge LLC ("SpearEdge," "we," "us") is a United States limited liability company that builds software for veterans and federal career seekers, including the ClearHire mobile application. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
Website
Our website does not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or cookies for profiling. It loads no resources from any third-party server — fonts and images are served from our own domain, so your browser never discloses your IP address to an outside party simply by visiting. The only personal information the site collects is what you voluntarily type into the contact form:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your organization (optional)
- The inquiry type and message content you provide
Our hosting provider automatically records standard server log data (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL) for security, abuse prevention, and availability monitoring. These logs are retained on a short rolling basis and are not used to build a profile of you.
ClearHire mobile application
ClearHire is designed on a data-minimization basis. Resume content, work history, military service details, and application tracking records you enter are stored on your device, in the operating system's encrypted storage (Apple Keychain / Android Keystore-backed storage). We do not require an account to use the core resume and tracking features, and we do not transmit your resume content to SpearEdge servers as part of normal use.
When you search federal job listings, your search terms are sent to the public USAJOBS job-listing service in order to return results. Those searches are not linked to your identity by us.
3. What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information. Ever.
- We do not share your information with data brokers or advertisers.
- We do not ask for, collect, or store Social Security numbers, dates of birth, government ID numbers, VA claim or file numbers, or financial account numbers.
- We do not use your resume content to train machine-learning models.
4. How we use information
- To respond to you. Contact-form submissions are used solely to answer your inquiry.
- To operate and secure our services. Server logs are used to detect abuse, diagnose faults, and maintain availability.
- To improve the product. Where we use diagnostics, they are aggregate and non-identifying, and you may disable them in the app's settings.
5. Service providers
We rely on a small number of vendors to deliver our services. They process information only on our instructions and only for the purpose stated:
- Website hosting and form delivery — hosting provider (static site delivery, TLS termination, form relay).
- Email — Microsoft 365 (receiving and answering your inquiries).
- App distribution — Apple, Inc. (App Store delivery, in-app purchase processing). Payment information is handled entirely by Apple; SpearEdge never receives your card details.
- Federal job listings — the USAJOBS public job-listing service, operated by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
6. Data retention
Contact-form correspondence is retained while the inquiry is open and for a reasonable period afterward for recordkeeping, then deleted. On-device app data persists until you delete it in the app or uninstall the application. Server logs are retained on a short rolling window.
7. Security
We apply security controls proportionate to the sensitivity of the information involved, informed by NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, and the OWASP application security standards:
- All traffic to our website and services is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher, with HSTS enforced.
- The website enforces a strict Content Security Policy and related browser hardening headers.
- Sensitive application data is encrypted at rest using platform keystores, with optional biometric or passcode lock.
- We practice least-privilege access and do not store credentials in application source code.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, please see our security disclosure contact.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah, and individuals in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR), have these rights under their respective laws. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising them.
Because most ClearHire data lives only on your device, you can exercise deletion directly: clear the data in the app's settings, or uninstall the app. For anything held by us, email privacy@spearedgellc.com and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
We honor Global Privacy Control signals. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, no opt-out is required.
9. Children's privacy
Our services are intended for adults seeking employment and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Veterans and service members
ClearHire is built for people who have served. We treat military service history, MOS/AFSC/rating codes, and veteran preference eligibility as sensitive personal information. This information stays on your device, is never sold, and is never disclosed to employers or third parties except when you yourself choose to include it in an application you submit through an official government system.
11. International transfers
SpearEdge operates in the United States, and information we hold is processed in the United States. If you access our services from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be processed here.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and, where required, provide additional notice. Continued use of our services after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
